Imitation – Hebrews 13:17

Remember your leaders, those who spoke to you the word of God. Consider the outcome of their way of life, and imitate their faith (Hebrews 13:7).

If you are effectively a “lone ranger” Christian who is not part of a church, how do you imitate the faith of your leaders? How do you hear the word of God from them when they preach and teach from it? The Bible is full of similar passages directing us to imitate others and learn from their examples of faith. Here are a few:

For you yourselves know how you ought to imitate us, because we were not idle when we were with you (2 Thessalonians 3:7).

It was not because we do not have that right, but to give you in ourselves an example to imitate (2 Thessalonians 3:9).

Brothers, join in imitating me, and keep your eyes on those who walk according to the example you have in us (Philippians 3:17).

If you are a lone ranger Christian, I would encourage you to repent and become part of a local congregation that believes in and teaches from the infallible, inerrant and sufficient word of God, the Bible. Be in the Lord’s house this Sunday, worship with other believers, and imitate the faith of godly leaders.
